About the talk
No one wants to sit through Death by PowerPoint – What if we said that you didn’t have to? PowerPoint doesn’t have to look like PowerPoint. I would like to share some of the skills I have picked up over years and help you raise your presentation game. Or, at the very least help you to hate it slightly less.
In this talk we will talk about how bullet points are killing your presentation – and how to stop it. We will talk about deck structure (it might not be how you think). How simple animation techniques can really help get your message across. We will discuss how an unsung hero might actually win you business. Plus some ridiculously simple tips and tricks that will save you time and effort.
Presentation design has come of age in recent years. You can’t go in to a room with a headline, small stock image and half a dozen bullet points and expect to win a pitch any more. Microsoft have quietly been going about their business and adding tools and functionality to PowerPoint over the last few years. The fact is, capabilities within the tools have risen and so have expectations.
Andy Bundock
I have been in the creative industry for over 25 years both agency and client side. I have created award winning projects and I’m passionate for beautiful and innovative, interactive solutions large or small.
I started in print and built up strong typography and page layout skills, then went in to digital right at the beginning persuading clients that Flash sites were really cool! My integrated skills stood me in good stead as I sustained design and art direction positions in some on London’s top creative agencies. Digital got renamed UI/UX and I went client side.
I helped transform a bunch of talented IT consultants in to a fully fledged software company creating an enterprise level project management platform. I created all of their SaaS tools dashboards and UI design as well as all of the marketing materials across all channels.
These days I bring data to life in compelling and memorable deck design that drives action. This could be anything from pitch decks for creative agencies, eBooks for thought leadership content, or investment presentations for a capital investment firm. Either way it is compelling and memorable content that stays with decision makers after the event and wins business.
Aaaand…I can wear a different pair of trainers every day for over two months. Yes, I have a slightly unhealthy addiction and no, I don’t care!
