We’re delighted to have been asked to host talks, workshops and a hackathon at the CityLAN eSports and technology expo, right here in the middle of Peterborough!

Taking place over three days (Thursday 20th – Saturday 22nd August, 2015) the event will see thousands of gamers and technology fans from across the world descend into the ABAX Stadium (Posh ground) and new Future Business Centre on London Road.

Thursday 20th August

We’re kicking off on Thursday at 10.30AM with a two-hour talk and workshop on computing, robots and wearable technology followed by a Q&A session before going off to build a robot using the Arduino platform.

If you miss the first session then it will be repeated at 2PM, or why not come to both and take your robot to the next level!

Friday 21st August

Friday sees us getting into coding for the Raspberry Pi and Arduino, for all ages and abilities.  Ideal for anyone looking to get into coding or for young children showing an interest in technology.

Workshops are throughout the day at 10AM, 11.30AM, 3PM, 4.30PM.

Talks and webinars are at 2PM and 6PM, with a fascinating webinar on Ada Lovelace and women in STEM at 4PM.

Saturday 22nd August

Saturday continues the workshop theme with Raspberry Pi workshops at 10AM and 3PM, Arduino workshops at 11.30AM and 4.30PM, with DPiP regular Jay Heal hosting an App & UI Design workshop at 11.30AM.

We’ve two talks on computing on Saturday at 2PM and 6PM.


The DPiP Hackathon is a two-day code marathon running alongside the CityLAN gaming weekend. Starting on the Friday morning and running through to Saturday evening, contestants are challenged with developing a prototype around a given topic, and then presenting it to the rest of the group who must then vote on their favourite project.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.

Refreshment and food will be provided for all attendees.
